This calculator is not a replacement for medical advice, health assessments, diagnosis or body composition testing. It's a practical starting point, not a rule book.

Why Weight Comparisons Don't Work

The biggest mistake some make when choosing a goal is comparing themselves to someone else.

Not in a motivational "comparison is the thief of joy" way - in a practical, biological way.

Two factors alone can dramatically change someone's bodyweight:

  • Height
  • Muscle mass

A person who is 6ft and 10 stone will look completely different to someone who is 5ft 2 and weighs 10 stone - even if the number on the scales says the same.

That's why comparing ourselves to celebrities or friends is completely misleading, unless our height, build and muscle mass are similar.

To make this clear:

People with very different physiques can weigh exactly the same.

All of the women below weigh the same:

So, What Is Ideal Body Weight?

Here's the truth:

There's no single universal "ideal weight".

This calculator is based off years of experience speaking with hundreds of thousands of members and clients in personal training, transformation clubs and now Team RH and understanding the results that they want or are happy with.

You can see all of our amazing member transformations, and how each of them achieved their goals.

As long as health markers are in check (blood pressure, cholesterol, HbA1c etc), and you're personally happy with what you see in the mirror - that's the real ideal bodyweight.

How the Calculator Works

This tool gives you a broad estimate based on:

  • Height
  • Current weight
  • Approximate muscle mass, based off the above

It then uses this information to work out your remaining physical body fat. It's designed to give a good average rating, based on whether someone has muscle mass from training or not.

It's not a diagnosis, and it's not a target you must hit.

It's simply a guideline based on patterns observed across thousands of clients and members.

Could it be more precise? Yes, but only by a small amount, and we're talking a couple of lbs.

For a quick, easy calculation for real-world use, this tool is a strong average estimate.

How to Achieve the Goal

Knowing an ideal weight is useful, but the real challenge is understanding how to reach it.

Most people struggle because they’re trying to follow generic advice or numbers that weren’t designed for them. Inside the Team RH App, members choose from three plan options that suit their lifestyle.

From there, personalised calorie, macro and step targets are set for them to achieve their goals.

Results come from consistent habits.

The app helps build habits by tracking daily targets and showing weekly progress in a clear trend line. It’s much easier to stick to when the progress is visible.
